Green Deen Tribe

The Green Deen Tribe is an initiative  inspired by Ibrahim Abdul Matin’s book “Green Deen: What Islam Teaches about Protecting the Planet” which seeks to reconnect to the integral relationship of nature and the Islamic teachings of spirituality and tending to the Earth. The idea that  through deepening our understanding of the role of Khalifa and our connection to the Earth, we deepen our love and relationship with Allah and the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). As Muslims our relationship with the Earth is an integral part of our belief and Divine connection. Over the past few years we have hosted film screenings, retreats, workshops, walks and other spaces with the intent of holding nature in a sacred space.

Are you interested in Islamic Spirituality and Nature?

Do you want to be part of a small team that is dedicated to creating events that explore Islam, nature and earth stewardship?

Would you like to be part of nourishing change within yourself and your community?

The Green Deen Tribe is a growing movement that holds regular events , retreats and workshops. We believe that the environmental crisis is also a spiritual one and so part of the response should also be one that looks at healing our own spiritual connection and state. We use practices, teachings and traditions based on the Prophetic tradition and Sacred Quranic text to encourage and create sustainable changes to our everyday lifestyles. This re connection deepens our connection to Allah through nature and allows us to make steps towards truly embodying the role of stewardship.

We are a small hard working team who is currently seeking a passionate intern or volunteer to help grow and develop our 2020/21 series of events and retreats.
